How the pack works
01
Answer questions about your premises
Plain-English questions about your building, exits, rooms, team and how you tell people what to do. Most people finish in about twenty minutes.
02
Check and download your documents
Your ten documents are produced as PDF and Word. Read them through, change anything that does not fit your premises, and adopt them as your organisation's procedures.
03
Brief your team and review each year
Use the briefing sheet and log to brief staff and volunteers. We remind you when the annual review is due, and the review log records what changed.
What you can use for free
The Martyn's Law checker is free and needs no account. It asks six questions and tells you whether your premises are likely to be out of scope, standard tier or enhanced tier. You can also ask for your result and a one-page summary of the law by email. For a fuller explanation, read Martyn's Law explained and our guides for different venues.
Is the pack right for venues with 800 or more people?
Places of worship, nurseries and childcare settings, schools and further education colleges stay in the standard tier at any size, so the pack is written for them. Other venues where 800 or more people can be expected are enhanced tier. They have further duties, including a compliance document, which this pack does not cover. If that applies to you, see the government guidance and consider professional help.
Pricing questions
Does the subscription renew automatically?
Yes. Your subscription renews each year until you cancel. You can cancel at any time, and cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for. You keep access until then.
What if the price changes?
We will email you at least 30 days before any price change applies to you.
How does pricing work for several premises?
Your first premises is £79 a year and each additional premises is £59 a year. Each building has its own exits, rooms and numbers, so each needs its own set of procedures.
What happens to my documents if I cancel?
You can keep using the service until the end of your paid period. Download the PDF and Word versions of your documents before then, so you have your own copies to keep using and reviewing.
Who can buy the pack?
The pack is for organisations and businesses in the UK, such as pub operators, parochial church councils, school governing bodies, hall committees and clubs. It is for business use, not for consumers.
Does buying the pack mean we are compliant?
No. The pack helps you put procedures in place and keep records of them. Your organisation needs to check the documents fit your premises, brief your people and review them. The Security Industry Authority decides whether procedures are appropriate. The pack is not legal or security advice.
Does Martyn's Law apply to your venue?
